CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER- Mount St. Mary Hospital, Victoria, BC

The pending retirement of our CEO in Spring 2006, has created this excellent opportunity. Reporting to the Board of Management, as a successful skilled senior healthcare executive you will possess the conviction of sharing the spiritual and cultural values of this longstanding organization.

Founded in Victoria, BC, in 1941 by the Sisters of St. Ann, and re-built in 2003 as a new 200 bed Extended/Complex Care organization with a staff of over 300 and operating budget of $14 million, we are a Catholic health organization whose Mission is to continue the healing ministry of Jesus by providing a community of compassionate, loving care to adults of all faiths who require long-term support. Our Vision is to provide a safe residential environment that fosters mutual respect, ethical reflection, and personal growth, within our Values emphasizing respect and dignity, fairness, competence, excellence, responsibility, accountability, and hope.

Your record of successful multi-dimensional leadership skills to deal with the complexities of both external and internal issues within the BC healthcare system, coupled with your history of personal career growth and development, will allow you to deal effectively with our unique role in the greater Victoria area healthcare environment. Our organization is a multi-union setting, where the worth and value of the staff are considered to be of great importance in creating a strong team to provide excellent care and support to our residents.

As an excellent communicator you bring a sound working knowledge of the current BC health delivery system and its corresponding funding models, and possess a history of strength and success in working with government and other external stakeholders to reinforce and ensure the continued credibility of the organization. You will possess a Baccalaureate or Masters in Health Sciences or Business Administration, with a record of commitment to continuous personal growth in education, coupled with significant publicly-funded health executive experience.
